HIBOU was founded in 2019 in Imola, Emilia-Romagna, from the synergy of humanistic and digital skills. Initially specialised in archival activities, today HIBOU also deals with the digitisation of cultural heritage, museological and museographic design, and the creation of tools to support and enhance fruition. HIBOU has an in-house division dedicated to 3D printing, for industrial prototyping and to respond to the increasingly topical issues of inclusiveness and accessibility emerging from the world of culture. In 2025, it opened an operational office in Friuli Venezia-Giulia, founded a cooperative group and participated with it in the SITEM international exhibition in Paris.
