Privacy Policy

Information pursuant to EU Regulation 2016/679 and current national data protection legislation

Italy China Council Foundation-ICCF (hereinafter 'ICCF') is particularly attentive to aspects concerning the 'protection of personal data' of its Members and of those who, for various reasons, use its services.
Therefore, by means of this information notice, it wishes to provide the necessary indications on how the personal data collected during the use of the "www.italychina.org"and the use of ICCF services.

Categories of data processed
ICCF processes personal data as part of the provision of its services.
The data are usually collected from the data subject, e.g. on the occasion of membership of ICCF, at trade fairs and events or as part of registration for the private area of the website.
In some specific cases, ICCF may process personal data provided by the entities with which it cooperates, including in particular its Members, associations or entities performing functions closely related or instrumental to ICCF's activity.

The main categories of personal data processed include:
- contact information: name, role, position, company or organisation, telephone, e-mail address and postal address;
- commercial information: data identifying the data subject in relation to services provided by the Foundation;
- contact information obtained from public sources, such as websites, Linkedin, Wechat and similar professional networks, directories or online publications;
- authentication credentials for access to the private area of the website;
- data relating to website navigation, including but not limited to IP address, type of device, operating system used, browser type and version, duration of visit and information on site interaction (scrolling, clicks, mouse-overs), etc.
ICCF does not, on its own initiative, collect or process special categories of personal data, including information revealing racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, health or state of health.

Purpose of processing 
The data collected by the Foundation will be processed for the following purposes:
a) Registration to the reserved area of the website
The provision of personal data is optional and refusal will not affect the proper navigation of the site. However, in order to receive communications, it is necessary to complete the registration, indicating a username and a valid e-mail address, in order to avoid fictitious registrations.
b) Sending informative, commercial communications and newsletters
ICCF, on the basis of its own legitimate interest, sends to its members and to those with whom it interacts periodic newsletters and informative or commercial communications consistent with the services offered. It is without prejudice to the data subject's right to object to the processing and unsubscribe from such service by sending a communication to the address info@italychina.org.
c) Invitations to events and business meetings organised or sponsored by ICCF and its partners
ICCF, on the basis of its own legitimate interest, proposes to the subjects with whom it interacts the possibility of participating in events of an informative, educational and networking nature useful for developing knowledge and business opportunities for the same subjects in the Italy-China bilateral context. The data subject has the right to object to such processing.
d) Provision of services requested by the person concerned or envisaged within the framework of the association relationship
As part of its ordinary operations, ICCF carries out the processing of personal data necessary and instrumental to the provision of its services and the management and administration of the relationship with its Members, partners and users.
e) Fulfilment of regulatory, administrative and tax obligations.

Treatment modes 
ICCF processes personal data in compliance with the provisions of the privacy regulations, by means of paper, computer or telematic tools; processing is based on the principles of correctness, lawfulness, transparency and proportionality.

The technical and organisational security measures taken are commensurate with any threats that might compromise the confidentiality, integrity and availability of the data, so as to mitigate the risk of unauthorised processing and accidental damage.

Cookies policy
Browsing data may be collected through the ICCF website, which are processed solely for the purpose of providing the service to the user.
The site makes use of cookies, i.e. small text files that are sent to the user's device (computer, smartphone, tablet) and stored in the browser in order to optimise the use of the website, store the application session and share content on social networks.

In particular, the site uses the following cookies.
- Session cookies: Session cookies are stored temporarily and have a limited validity in time, so they do not permanently record any information on the user's device. These cookies make it possible to store information relating to the start of each user's session.
- Analytical/performance cookiesAnalytical cookies are used to count the number of visitors accessing the Foundation's website and to see how they navigate and use it, with the aim of improving the functioning and experience of the website (e.g. ensuring that users find the information they are looking for more easily). These cookies do not collect any information that can identify the user and the data collected is anonymous and processed in aggregate form.
- Technical cookies: The purpose of technical cookies is to ensure the transmission of communication between the user and the site on the Internet network, to the extent strictly necessary to ensure an optimal site navigation experience.
- Third-party cookiesThird-party cookies are managed by parties other than the Foundation in a manner defined by them. Specifically, the site uses:
- Google Analytics cookies for collecting information and data in an anonymous and aggregate form. More information about these cookies and the relevant privacy policy can be found at the following link: www.google.it/analytics/learn/privacy.html
- Social Network Cookies, for sharing content on the main social networks (LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, WeChat, Sina Weibo). The data are collected and processed in full autonomy by the operators of the social network platforms, and for more information please read the privacy notices provided by these entities.

No profiling cookies are used.

Disclosure of data to third parties 
Without prejudice to disclosures made in order to comply with legal obligations, ICCF may also disclose data, strictly in relation to the above-mentioned purposes, to the following parties or categories of parties:
 associations or entities that perform functions closely related or instrumental to the Foundation's activities;
 members of the Foundation;
 newspapers and publishing companies;
 third parties of interest to members, including foreign delegations;
 public and private entities;
 credit institutions;
 forwarders;
 accountants and labour consultants.
With explicit consent, contact data may be transferred to companies and business partners in China and Hong Kong.

Data Retention
Personal data are retained for the time necessary to pursue the above-mentioned purposes, and made unavailable once the purpose of processing no longer applies.
The criteria used to determine the retention period take into account the obligations arising from current legislation and any legitimate interests of ICCF in pursuing the purposes described above.

Rights of data subjects
If you wish to exercise your rights, including the possibility of requesting confirmation of the existence of your personal data, obtaining access to, rectification or deletion of your data, and for more information about this policy, please contact ICCF at info@italychina.org
The data subject is without prejudice to the possibility of lodging a complaint with the Control Authority.
