Fourth trip to the country in the past year for the President of the Italy China Council Foundation-ICCF: an effort to consolidate the friendship between Italy and China, through ICCF's activities and projects in various fields, including cultural ones

Italy China Council Foundation-ICCF is in China, following the institutional visit of the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella which, after Beijing, will touch Hangzhou and Guangzhou, with the aim of strengthening cultural and diplomatic relations between our two countries. Representing the Milan-based organisation - the only platform in Italy that brings together Italian and Chinese institutions and private individuals - is its President, Mario Boselli, who today, 8 November, was one of the speakers at the Third Italy-China Cultural Forumat the National Museum of China in Beijing. Afterwards, President Boselli participated, with a small delegation following President Mattarella, in the meeting with the President of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping.

'The trip accompanying President Mattarella to China is the fourth for me this year to the country,' said the ICCF President, Mario Boselli -, and the second in just fifteen days, after returning from the Keqiao district in Zhejiang: an experience that has never happened in over forty years of travelling in China. This visit is particularly important for me, and I feel the responsibility and honour of representing one of the institutions that have continuously played the role of bridge between the two countries for so many years. I believe it is important for us to get to know each other better and better, using culture, trade, and scientific research to cooperate and, through this collaboration, enrich each other both economically and spiritually'.

Participation in the state visit is particularly significant as it takes place precisely at the same time as the celebrations for the 700 years since the death of Marco Poloa historical symbol of the encounter between East and West. And it also falls in the year in which we celebrate the 50th anniversary of the scientific journal Chinese Worldwhich will be celebrated with a major event in Palazzo Marinoin Milan next 15 November. Chinese World, published by ICCFis currently considered the most important Italian periodical of contemporary Chinese studies and can be considered an integral part of our country's intangible cultural heritage.

This visit marks a further stage in the Italy China Council Foundation's journey to build a lasting cooperation with Chinafacilitating dialogue and cooperation in various fieldsincluding economic, technological and, indeed, cultural.
