A textile entrepreneur, Cavaliere del Lavoro (Knight of Labour) Mario Boselli began his career in 1959 at the family’s historic silk company, Carlo Boselli, in Garbagnate Monastero (Lecco). Between the 1970s and the early 2000s, he led the company’s growth in Italy and on international markets, stepping down from its management in 2005 to take on new institutional roles.

From 1999 to 2015 he was Chairman of the Italian National Chamber of Fashion (Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana), where he now serves as Honorary Chairman. He has previously served as Chairman of Federtessile, Fiera Internazionale di Milano, Pitti Immagine, the International Silk Association, the Italian-Slovak Chamber of Commerce and Centrobanca, and as a member of the Management Board of UBI Banca.

In April 2020 he was appointed President of the Italy China Foundation. In February 2024, he was elected Chairman of the Italy China Chamber of Commerce, succeeding Pier Luigi Streparava, who became Honorary Chairman. From 2017 to 2022 ,he was also Chairman of the Italo-Chinese Institute (Istituto Italo Cinese).

He is currently President of the Board of Directors of Prestitalia, Vice President of Isybank (Intesa Sanpaolo) and a board member of numerous Italian and international companies. Among his main honours are Cavaliere del Lavoro (1990), Commandeur de l’Ordre National de la Légion d’Honneur (France, 2002) and Knight Grand Cross of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic (2007).
