On 1 July, an important reform of the Companies Actapproved by the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China at the end of last year, with the aim of promoting the opening of the Chinese domestic market.
Supporting foreign and domestic investment, the law aims to strengthen the economyIt improves companies' capital adequacy, protects creditors' rights and optimises corporate governance structures. It also simplifies procedures for the incorporation and liquidation of companies, facilitates the sale of shareholdings and improves transparency in the disclosure of corporate information.
