On the occasion of the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Italy, lands in Milan SHANGHAI IN MY MIND - Milan Station, the third edition of the international exhibition series promoted by the Shanghai Municipality Information Office, organised by the Shanghai Promotion Center for City of Design and supported by ICCF. The exhibition opens on Friday 6 June at Besana Roundaboutas part of the city's 'Charming Shanghai' image promotion events. SHANGHAI IN MY MIND - Milan Station is open to the public free of charge Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 June 2025.
SHANGHAI IN MY MIND was created with the aim of promoting Shanghai's cultural heritage, urban energy and innovative spirit through the eyes of international designers and creatives. The exhibition is the result of a open call which involved 17 artists from China, Italy, France, Japan, New Zealand, United States and other countries, invited to render a personal vision of the metropolis through painting, photography, collage, installations and digital art. Launched in 2023, SHANGHAI IN MY MIND aims to present Shanghai in an original way, to portray its beauty and appeal globally through the creations of young international artists.
The exhibition presents over 40 works and constructs an immersive journey into the urban landscape and symbolic imagery of the Chinese metropolis through the eyes of 17 designers and creatives from around the world.
The ICCF President Mario Boselli will participate in theopening event scheduled for Friday 6 June, from 4 p.m. to 6.20 p.m., at the Rotonda della Besana. This will be followed by a guided tour of the exhibition and a musical performance before the opening ceremony.The ceremony concludes with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a moment of dialogue with the public, who will be able to engage directly with the artists and the protagonists of the initiative in order to learn more about the exhibition.
The central theme, 'Shanghai in my mind'encapsulates the idea that everyone holds their own Shanghai interior. A metropolis balanced between tradition and modernity, East and West, the city is reinterpreted in a visual key, reflecting the creative and cosmopolitan spirit of Milanwith which Shanghai shares the UNESCO-designated title of "City of Design.
