A textile entrepreneur, Cavaliere del Lavoro Mario Boselli began his career in 1959 at the historic family silk company, Carlo Boselli, based in Garbagnate Monastero (Lecco). Between the 1970s and the early 2000s, he led the company's development in Italy and on international markets, stepping down from management in 2005 to dedicate himself to new institutional roles.

From 1999 to 2015 he was President of the National Chamber of Italian Fashion, a role in which he still serves today as Honorary President. In the past he has been President of Federtessile, the Milan International Fair, Pitti Immagine, the International Silk Association, the Italo-Slovak Chamber of Commerce and Centrobanca, and a member of the Management Board of UBI Banca.

In April 2020 he was appointed President of the Italy China Foundation. In February 2024 he was elected President of the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce, succeeding Pier Luigi Streparava, who was appointed Honorary President. From 2017 to 2022, he was President of the Italy-China Institute.

Currently, he is Chairman of the Board of Directors of Prestitalia, Vice Chairman of Isybank (Intesa Sanpaolo) and a member of the boards of numerous Italian and international companies. Among the main honours he has received are those of Cavaliere del Lavoro (1990), Commandeur de l’Ordre National de la Légion d’Honneur (France 2002) and Knight Grand Cross of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic (2007).
