In Nanjing the first Italian-Chinese innovation summit organized by the Foundation, Chic and Nanjing Science Town

The first China-Italy Innovation and Development Summit was held in Nanjing, a Sino-Italian bilateral on innovation and development organized by Nanjing Science Town, Italy China Foundation, Chic Group with the participation of ECSI Consulting.
The event is of particular relevance in the context of the new Silk Road and the agreements just signed in Rome by President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte that foresee an intensification of the collaboration between the two countries, and follows the Science Week , Technology and Innovation Italy-China held last December in Italy with the participation of Wang Zhigang, Minister of Science and Technology of the Chinese government, and Alberto Bombassei, who returns to Nanjing (Nanjing) in his dual role as President of the Italy Foundation China and Kilometro Rosso, one of the main European innovation districts.

At the center of the Summit is the signing of a Letter of Intent (LoI) precisely between the two technological districts: Kilometro Rosso and Nanjing Science City, which took place in the presence of Chinese and Italian authorities including Hu Hong, Vice Mayor of the city of Nanjing , Qi Yuwei, Secretary of Pukou District Committee, and Bartolomeo Pietro Lamonarca, Consul General of Italy in Shanghai.

In his speech, Alberto Bombassei expressed his satisfaction with the agreement: "Today's signing between the Kilometro Rosso and the Nanjing Science City is certainly a first but important step in this path and we are certain that it will contribute to strengthening our future relationships in view of an ever closer and more fruitful collaboration between Italy and China”.
The goal of the Chinese Science City, a complex entirely dedicated to science and technological innovation that arises in the Pukou district, is the identification of joint innovation opportunities between Italian companies and Chinese companies. Scientific cooperation between Italy and China is today of particular interest for the industrial relations of the two countries in the light of the Industry 4.0 and Made in China 2025 plans which, although not overlapping, aim at the redevelopment of the national industrial system. According to the Italy China Foundation, industrial innovation plays an important role in the interchange between Italy and China, which consists of 9 sectors out of 10 from the same category of products, a factor that recalls the need for cooperation and integration between our countries.
This key aspect was pointed out by Paolo Cervini, at the head of ECSI Consulting, a global leader in innovation strategies: "For an Italian company interested in a development path, it has become an essential element to understand the most recent strategies of innovation in "China": in terms of digital solutions and business and organizational models (in particular those driven by ecosystems). This not only to strengthen its presence on the Chinese market, but in general as a strategic lever to compete internationally".

The conference focused on these issues and data to share best practices through a series of testimonials from Italian, Chinese and international direct players including the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce, European Chamber of Commerce in China, Harvard Business Review, Comau, DooPlus Group, Savino of Bene, Deloitte, Nanjing University of Technology and National Internet of Things Demonstration Project.
