New media assumed a leading role during the 7th Italy China Career Day, held on 19thJune 2017 and organised by Italy China Foundation and Associna, in partnership with Assolombarda Confindustria Milano Monza Brianza and the Italy-China Chamber of Commerce. For the first time since 2011, this edition presented expert candidates in social media management, among other more traditional sectors.
The main objective consisted of encouraging the match between supply and demand of the job market, always more focused on east Asia’s economies. The career day has become an important occasion for companies that are looking for employees whose mother tongue is Chinese, or Italians with specific competences on China, in particular with a deep knowledge of China, its language, culture and economy.
After formative sessions for both candidates and companies, during the afternoon 168 candidates – previously chosen from 285 profiles who applied to the event- had their job interviews. The candidates’ educational paths related to several different fields: such as, Economics and Business, East Asian Languages, Luxury and Retail, Accommodation, Engineering, Social Media Management, Architecture and Design, Banking, Tourism, IT, Maths, Law, Agribusiness, Cinema and Entertainment, Chemistry, Sports, and Music.
Participating companies came from a wide range of sectors as well: that is, Tyre Manufacturing, Hospitality, Engineering, Shopping Center, Retail, Fashion and Leather Goods, Metallurgy, Tourism, Airport and Motorway Food Service. The job positions offered were: internal auditor, reception desk, designer, project engineer, marketing and communication intern, sales associate, sales assistant, sales area manager, digital marketing intern, corportate HR organization intern, sales and back office, stock keeper, managerin training, client advisor, IT specialist, project manager, data mining junior specialist, data manager food and beverage, travel agent, marketing web manager, IT specialist, executive director.
