For the fifth consecutive year, in fact, the Professional Group will lead - through its CEO China, Mattia Marino - the delegation of our country at the event that this year will be held from 18 to 21 April in Boao-Hainan, China. This year's theme is A World in Change: Join Hands to Strengthen Global Governance and Advance Belt and Road Cooperation.
The Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) is a non-governmental and non-profit organization that aims to offer a high-end dialogue platform for governments, businesses, experts and scholars to jointly discuss the most pressing issues in Asia and in Worldwide. The Annual Conference, in particular, has the primary purpose of promoting cooperation and coordination between the countries of Asia and between Asia and the rest of the world, as well as promoting the networking of the corporate and institutional elites that participate in it. Every year, 10-15 heads of state attend Boao in front of over 2,000 delegates.
In a world that is increasingly experiencing a rebalancing of geo-economic balances, The European House - Ambrosetti believes that the Boao Forum for Asia represents a platform capable of offering a privileged framework for understanding the evolution and dynamics of the Asian continent, as well as for building and develop new relationships. For this reason it has joined forces with those of the organizers of the Forum to have a growing entrepreneurial and institutional presence at this important Asian event.
The friendship with Italy was reconfirmed in March 2018 with the election of Prof. Romano Prodi as the only European member of the new Board, who is also proud of the presence of Ban Ki Moon as its Chairman. To strengthen this collaboration, The European House - Ambrosetti and Boao Forum for Asia formalized a memorandum of understanding signed on 9 July 2018 in Beijing with the aim of launching a new Europe - China platform, within which the first edition of the Asia-Europe Leaders' Cooperation Dialogue, which was held on 4-5 December 2018 in Rome and the second edition in Chongqing in China on 1 and 2 December, 2019.
For the first time this year, Valerio De Molli, Managing Partner and CEO The European House - Ambrosetti, will participate as a speaker at the Forum on April 18 and will talk about the joint construction of the Silk Road of Health.
The Italian delegation to the Boao Forum for Asia since 2017 has strengthened qualitatively and quantitatively. Romano Prodi, President of the Foundation for Collaboration among Peoples and Board Member of the Boao Forum for Asia (digital) will also take part in the forum; Enrico Letta, Secretary of the Democratic Party and former Prime Minister (digital); Ignazio Visco, Governor of the Italian Central Bank (digital); Michele Geraci, former Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economic Development who will instead participate in the presence of Boao.
